For an existing, standard four bedroom, two bathroom, single story home with clear ceiling access, adequate switchboard, basic 6 zone controller, and an outdoor unit located at ground level you could expect to need an air conditioner sized anywhere from 12.5 kW – 16.0 kW to cool or heat the home sufficiently.
A basic and very rough price guide is approx $1000* incl GST per kW. So for example, a 12.5 kW ducted air conditioning system could be around $12,500* to supply and install. This could vary as much as 10% more or less and does depend on the specific installation requirements for your property as well as the factors listed above.
